FOOT TYPE BIOMECHANICS

Static Leg Axis/Q-Angle

3-STEPS FOOT PROFILE:

•Foot Imprint: We compare the medial and the plantar x-ray  view of the corresponding foot type.

•Leg Axis: Research has found that movement patterns at the knee affect the biomechanics of the foot,

so it is vital that the leg axis is analyzed and used in shoe selection.

•Shoe/Inserts Selection: We will assist your pick in respect to the biomechanical behaviour of your ’foot type’

and biomechanical function of your daily or performance footwear.

Shoe Selection

WHAT IS YOUR FOOT TYPE?

The foot flexible structure supports body weight while still allowing us to move dynamically. The fascinating combination composed out of 28 bones, 31 joints and 20 intrinsic muscles varies between individuals. Find out more about the foot properties, the attributes and how to identify foot types by studying foot imprints. Simply compare the medial and the plantar x-ray view of the corresponding foot type with the foot imprint.
WHAT IS LEG AXIS?

The leg axis is the line extending from the hip down to the foot that the knee joint flexes through. Research has found that movement patterns at the knee affect the biomechanics of the foot, so it is vital that the leg axis is analyzed and used in shoe selection.

Foot and knee function are kinetically linked and can adversely affect each other in a uniform manner. By cross-referencing the two we can accurately predict dynamic foot function and the accuracy of shoe or insole selection improves markedly.
SHOES / INSERTS RECOMMENDATION

Choosing the correct shoe (ex: running)

When buying a pair of running shoes it is particularly important that they are the right style for you.
First we look at your feet and legs. This information is vital: by using Foot technology and  cross-reference leg axis. We can assess the kind of shoe you really need.
Running is a high impact sport and each strike of the heel exerts up to three times your body weight on your joints. The right shoe will protect you.

Insoles:

Insoles are born through clinical experience and biomechanical principles.
Insoles respect the biomechanical behaviour of your ’foot type’ and biomechanical function of your daily or performance footwear.
